Charlotte’s g-tube surgery went very well on Wednesday, and we were happy to see her wake up quickly from the sedatives. Yesterday they started feeding her through her new g-tube, and her body is currently accepting the volume. She has been receiving small quantities at first, but the nurses are hoping to increase her to a full-size feed before she goes home.

Constipation is a continuing issue for Charlotte, and the doctors are still working to resolve it. There is a chance that constipation is hindering her ability to void independently, but we are still being trained for catheterizing Charlotte at home just in case this is a permanent change. We are praying that God will resolve the issue, and she will regain her ability to void.

Charlotte will continue to remain at the hospital because she requires monitoring while her body adapts to the g-tube, she heals from surgery, and the doctors resolve her constipation issue. We also are receiving training for Charlotte’s new homecare equipment that’s required for her new physical needs.

Prayer request:

  • For God to resolve her constipation so she can void by herself
  • For God to heal her from surgery and help her adapt to the g-tube

Once again, we are so grateful for all the prayers being lifted up for Charlotte. We knew from the beginning that God had a purpose in this trial and we know that every hardship a believer faces is for a specific reason. God makes no mistakes, and every test of faith brings us closer to Him. God is always good.
